The European Union has declared 2018 as the European Year of Cultural Heritage.
Throughout 2018, celebrations of diverse cultural heritage across Europe will take place at EU, national, regional and local level. The aim of the European Year of Cultural Heritage is to encourage more people to discover Europe's cultural heritage, and to reinforce a sense of belonging to a common European space. 

The IUPAC Postgraduate Summer School on Green Chemistry has received the sponsorship and the official label of the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018.
