On behalf of all the IUPAC officers, members and Secretariat staff, we send our deepest condolences following the devastating earthquake that occurred in central Italy this morning. Our thoughts and well wishes are with the Italian people and the staff at the Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche. We will also be sending this letter to IUPAC’s many Italian members and contacts. Italy will be hosting our 6th International Green Chemistry conference in Venice during 4-8 September 2016 and we are confident that it will be unaffected by the events in central Italy given the strength and courage of the Italian people.
